Thoughts on Tolkien
I just decided to read The Hobbit over the summer and then go and see the film in December after all. And if this goes well, I’ll give The Lord Of The Rings another chance.
Sorta kinda true. Loki is hot. The only thing that makes him resistible is that he’s evil. And wants to rule you. Not so hot, at least in everyday life ;-)

Sherlockian week ahead!
Just got the SH:AGOS and BBCSherlock DVDs in the mail.
Posted something lightly anti-corporate, lost 5 FB friends. Good riddance, I say!
It doesn’t seem legit, but whatever. It looks cool.
Right now I’m a little fed up with super heroes. What, I can hear you say? But between constantly checking for updates on TDKR, seeing The Avengers on the weekend and today the new trailer and Iron Man 2 with the guys, I’m a little fed up at the moment. It was just a bit much. Time for a change in material. How about some Shakespeare?
And it WAS Bruce climbing out of that well in the teaser after all!
I knew it! It may not be the same well as the one at Wayne manor, but it’s Bruce picking himself up BY HIMSELF now, without the help of his father. Very nice image.
This went quick. I really thought this game would take longer, but thanks to fans all around the world, the trailer is here now! I don’t think it’s as good as the first one, but still interesting.

It was fun, but saying it was good would be an exaggeration in my opinion. In that regard it delivered exactly what I was expecting: a funny, action packed romp with lots of one-liners and no plot to speak of. It’s not up there with the Iron Man films, which are my second favourite superhero films and it’s got absolutely NOTHING on TDKR (unless Nolan actually screws up his track record, which would be really unexpected).
But to make peace with all Avengers fans, here’s what I loved about the movie:
- Black Widow has a lot of scenes and kicks a lot of ass in them
- Tom Hiddleston makes an awesome and spine chilling villain, too bad he doesn’t really get to show it
- a good number of laugh out loud jokes, puns, one-liners (most of them Tony’s of course)

I can’t tell you how superfluous The Amazing Spider-Man looks to me. Not necessarily bad. Just superfluous. It looks not a bit different from the Sam Raimi version.
